Fleurieu Biennale

2008 Events Program

Once again the 2008 Fleurieu Biennale will be a spectacular celebration of Australian artists, as the Fleurieu Peninsula provides a showcase for some of Australia's most exciting visual arts practitioners.

Artists from right across Australia and the world were invited to enter the $90,000 Fleurieu Biennale Prize Program which features the Fleurieu Art Prize, Australia's richest prize for landscape painting.

This year's panel of judges, former Director of the National Gallery of Australia Betty Churcher, Director of Artbank Geoffrey Cassidy and artist Philip Wolfhagen, pre-selected the works you can see in our five exhibitions across the region from a record-breaking number of entries.

Accompanied by a rich program of exhibitions, events and one-off experiences, the Fleurieu Biennale, only a short drive from Adelaide, is not to be missed!

So why not take the opportunity to enjoy some of Australia's best visual arts in a landscape which is deservedly famous for its vistas, great hospitality and amazing art, food and wine experiences.
